PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University has cancelled the Red-White soccer scrimmage scheduled for Saturday, August 18th. The first soccer game of the season will take place as scheduled on Friday, August 31 at Shea Stadium. At this time the University is still considering the status of the three Bradley athletes who have been charged by the States Attorney.

The following statement is from the Dahlquist family and is being released at their request:

"We are deeply moved by the compassion that we have received from our family, neighbors, and the St Mark, Notre Dame and Bradley communities.  We are truly blessed.  Danny was living his dream.  We are proud of the person he was.  All the wonderful comments have confirmed that others respected him in the same way.

Though this unspeakable tragedy hurts us tremendously, please keep in mind that there are five families that need your prayers.

Based on the intrusive behavior we have experienced the past two days, we will be very disappointed to see television cameras and reporters at the visitation and funeral for our son, Danny."
