Bobby Parker is in his 16th year overseeing the Bradley University Office of Athletics Communications and his ninth year with the title of Associate Athletic Director for Communications.

Parker joined the Bradley staff in 1999 as the Sports Information Director, a position he previously held at Creighton University from 1996 to 1999.  During his final three years at Creighton, Parker oversaw the sports information duties for the school’s 14-sport program and was the primary contact for baseball, men’s soccer and men’s basketball.  He was named the national SID of the Year by the College Soccer Weekly website in 1998.  In addition, his desktop design work was judged among the nation’s best by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

While continuing to serve as the primary SID contact for soccer, men’s basketball baseball and women's tennis at Bradley, Parker has introduced a student-based audio and video broadcasting program on the athletic department’s official website -- www.BradleyBraves.com -- and overseen the transition of the website to NeuLion (formerly XOS Technologies and JumpTV).  Each year the students produce approximately 60 live game broadcasts in soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball and softball.

The expanded video offerings are part of an overall overhaul of the Bradley Athletic Department's official website, a project co-coodinated by Parker and John Searby, former Assistant AD for External Affairs.  In addition to his work on website related issues, Parker chairs the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame committee and oversaw the design of the Burklund Family Heritage Hall museum in Renaissance Coliseum.

Outside of Bradley Athletics, Parker is a board member for the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame has been a volunteer softball coach in the Peoria Girls Sports League for nine years.

A two-year co-captain of the New Mexico State University swimming team, Parker was a student assistant in the SID office at NMSU from 1990-93.  After earning his bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from New Mexico State in 1993, Parker moved to the Land of Lincoln, where he worked as a graduate assistant for two years in the Illinois State athletics media relations.

Parker and his wife, the former Rhonda Ossola, have two daughters, Mackenzie (18) and Cecilia (14).
