PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior MacKenzie Westcott (Williamsburg, Iowa/Williamsburg) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after averaging a double-double in a pair of road games last week.
Westcott had a pair of solid efforts in Bradley's first two Missouri Valley Conference games, averaging 11.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of road games. She had seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals at I-74 rival Illinois State. Westcott ended the week by matching a career-high with 15 points and pulled down a career-best 12 boards to go along with three assists and three steals at Indiana State. An actuarial science major, Westcott owns a 3.67 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Westcott and the Braves return to action Thursday when they open a two-game Missouri Valley Conference homestand with a 7:05 p.m. game against Wichita State at Renaissance Coliseum.
