PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley women's basketball team to a 1-1 record last week.

Yohn averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in Bradley's first two home conference games of the year.  She had seven points and snagged a career-best seven rebounds to go along with three assists and one block in Bradley's 68-49 win against Wichita State for the Braves' first conference victory of the season.  She followed it up with an 18-point effort against Missouri State, hitting 4-of-10 three-point attempts and matched her career-high with seven boards.  She also had two assists and three steals in the loss to Missouri State.  A medical technology major, Yohn owns a 3.18 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Yohn and the Braves return to action Thursday, playing Drake a 7:05 p.m. game at the Drake Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa.  Thursday's game will be broadcast in the Peoria area on 1290 AM WIRL.
