Leah Kassing Named Country Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior center Leah Kassing (Mt. Sterling, Ill./Brown County) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after posting a pair of double-doubles last week.

Kassing averaged 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, while shooting 61.5 percent from the field in BU's first two conference games of the year.  The first Bradley player with four consecutive double-doubles since 1994-95, Kassing opened the week with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 12 rebounds against Missouri State.  She collected 20 points on 8-of-15 from the field and also hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds against Wichita State.  An elementary education major, Kassing owns a 3.00 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Kassing and the Braves return to action Thursday, facing Southern Illinois in a 7 p.m. game in Carbondale, Ill.
