IOWA CITY, Iowa - Designated hitter Greg Partyka hit a pair of home runs to spot Bradley a 5-0 lead and the Braves (19-14-1) rode the power display to a 7-3 win at Iowa (15-17) Wednesday night at Duane Banks Field.

Partyka hit two home runs for the second time this season and finished with a career-best five runs batted in, pushing his season total to 33 RBI's in his 33rd game.  He swatted a 2-run home run in the first inning and a 3-run blast in the third.

Freshman center fielder Max Murphy added a solo shot in the eighth inning as Bradley belted three home runs for the third time this season.

The power display provided plenty of support for the five Bradley pitchers that combined to limit the Hawkeyes to one run on seven hits.  The Braves took a shutout into the ninth inning, but Bradley closer Danny Gifford issued a pair of leadoff walks that opened the door for the Hawkeyes to push across their only run on Mike McQuillan's 2-out single.

Starter Tory Doerr (3-2) turned in his third straight strong midweek start for his third consecutive win, two against Big Ten Conference schools.  The senior lefthander allowed two runs on six hits and struck out a season-high four hitters in his 5.0 innings.  Relievers Steve Adkins (6th), Rob Kennedy (7th) and Jacob Booden (8th) each tacked on hitless and scoreless innings in front of Gifford.

Bradley improved to 2-1 against the Big Ten this season (1-1 against Illinois) and the Braves are 15-11 against the neighboring league since the start of the 2002 campaign.

With eight wins in its last 11 games, Bradley will try to carry the momentum into a 3-game series at rival Illinois State this weekend.  The series will start with a 4:30 game Friday at Duffy Bass Field and will continue with a 2 p.m. game Saturday and 1 p.m. game Sunday.

NOTES:  Wednesday's win was Bradley's fifth consecutive road win, its longest road winning streak since a seven-game streak in 2007 ... That 2007 streak included six games at Hawai'i-Hilo, meaning the current road winning streak is Bradley's longest against NCAA Division I opponents since a six-game streak from Feb. 26-March 9, 2005 ... The Braves also pushed their record to 10-4 in true road games and 16-9-1 overall away from home ... Freshman center fielder Max Murphy was 2-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to seven games and now has been on base in all 34 games this season ... Senior third baseman Rob Elliott extended his hitting streak to eight games with a first-inning single, but came out of the game in the seventh with an apparent knee injury suffered while trying to beat out a bunt.
