PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley men’s basketball team will make at least three appearances in the Missouri Valley Conference network television package during the 2012-13 season, according the complete package announced by the league office Friday afternoon.
The Valley is partnering with Niles Media Group of Kansas City to produce a 36-game package that will air regionally on FOX Sports Midwest, as well as FOX Sports Indiana, FOX Sports Kansas City and Comcast SportsNet Chicago; and nationally on FOX College Sports. The 36-game package will include 14 regular-season men’s basketball games and the first eight games of the MVC Men’s Basketball Championship in St. Louis, as well as six women’s basketball regular-season games, the final three games of the MVC Women’s Basketball Championship and the conference tournament championship games in men’s soccer, which is being hosted by Bradley, women’s soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
Bradley Basketball is scheduled to appear on MVC-TV Jan. 12 when the Braves visit UNI and Jan. 29 when they host Interstate 74 rival Illinois State. The March 2 regular-season finale at Missouri State also could be selected for MVC-TV coverage when MVC Wildcard Weekend television selections are announced in early February.
Friday’s MVC-TV announcement, on the heels of Thursday’s announcement of games to be broadcast by the ESPN family of networks, means Bradley will have at least seven games televised by regional or national outlets this season. The school continues to work on a local television package to compliment the Valley coverage.
The Braves will make their 2012-13 public debut Oct. 12 when they participate in the annual Red-White Scrimmage, part of next week’s Cram the Coliseum event. A marquee event on Bradley University’s Homecoming schedule, Cram the Coliseum will begin at 6 p.m. with the Bradley Volleyball team’s Valley match versus Southern Illinois. The annual men’s and women’s basketball Red-White Scrimmage immediately will follow the volleyball game.
Tickets for Cram the Coliseum, as well as season tickets and the Valley 8-Pack mini-season ticket plan, are on sale now at the Bradley Athletics Ticket Office at Renaissance Coliseum. Tickets prices for the Cram the Coliseum volleyball/basketball doubleheader are $6 for adults, $3 for children (K-12) and free for Bradley University students, faculty and staff, as well as active members of the military, all with valid identification.
