ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Freshman Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon after winning medalist honors at the Bradley Fall Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.

Lemek was the top performer in the 11-team field, firing a pair of 72's at the par-70 Highland Country Club to win individual medalist honors by three shots.  She is the first Bradley women's golfer to earn medalist honors since Breanne Neufeld won the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill., in March 2011.

The third freshman in school history to win the individual title in a tournament, Lemek is the first to accomplish the feat since Agnes Kim won the Austin Peay Coed Invitational in October 2001.  Kelly Dillon is the only other Bradley golfer in school history to win a tournament as a freshman, winning top honors twice as a freshman in 1998-99.

Lemek helped Bradley to a second-place finish at the Butler Fall Invitational and leads the team with a 75.2 season stroke average to go along with a team-best 11 rounds in the 70's.

Lemek and the Braves are back in action Oct. 21-23, concluding the fall schedule with the Pat Bradley Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
