JACKSON, Wis. – The Bradley women's tennis team
swept nine matches against Green Bay and earned five wins against host Milwaukee
during the first day of the Panther Round Robin Saturday at the Pleasant Valley
Tennis Club.
Sophomore Cassia Wojtalik enjoyed a perfect day
for the Braves, going a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles action. Wojtalik earned a 6-2, 7-6 (5) win at No. 5
singles in Bradley's 6-0 sweep against Green Bay and added a 6-3, 7-5 victory
at No. 5 singles in Bradley's 5-3 loss to the host Panthers. Wojtalik also teamed with Elizabeth Przystawski for a pair of No.
3 doubles victories, 8-5 in Bradley's 3-2 loss to Milwaukee and 8-3 in a 3-0
sweep against Green Bay.
Juniors Adele Henke and Sarah Rodefeld came within two points of enjoying a perfect day of
their own. Henke and Rodefeld both swept
their two singles matches Saturday and teamed for an 8-6 win in doubles action
versus Green Bay, but dropped a similar 8-6 doubles match to Milwaukee's Kelly
Fritz and Dana Shannon to prevent the perfect day.
Action at
the Panther Round Robin will continue Sunday morning at the Pleasant Valley
Tennis Club.
