Sarah McMahon Named Country Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore runner Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after leading the Bradley women's cross country team at last week's Bradley Classic.

McMahon helped the Braves to a fourth-place finish at the ninth annual Bradley Classic, running a career-best 6K time of 21:46 to finish 20th overall.  McMahon's time was 12 seconds better than her previous career-best effort and ranks as the sixth-fastest 6K time in school history.  An english major, McMahon owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley women's cross country team returns to action Friday at the Illini Open in Champaign, Ill., before taking part in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships Oct. 27 in Normal, Ill.
