LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- For the second game in a row, Bradley had a shot in the air to win at the buzzer, but the Braves could not get the winner to fall as Portland held on for a 57-55 win Sunday.

The Pilots (7-7) earned the consolation title in the lower division of the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic at Orleans Arena.  Bradley (8-4) suffered its second straight close loss in its final non-conference tune-up before opening Missouri Valley Conference play Dec. 29 versus Drake at Carver Arena.

Senior guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards led three Braves in double-figures with 15 points and he came up with two of Bradley's 15 steals to maintain his position among the national leaders. Walt Lemon, Jr. added six steals to his 10 points and center Will Egolf finished with 10.  Egolf made two 3-pointers during the game, but his attempt at the buzzer came up short.  Tyshon Pickett, who opened the tourney with a pair of double-double performances, finished with nine points, five rebounds and three steals Sunday and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Ryan Nicholas led Portland with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Derrick Rodgers added 12 and Oskars Reinfelds chipped in with 10.

Bradley shot just 31.5 percent (17-54) and its reserves were outscored 28-2.  The Braves stayed close throughout by forcing 19 Portland turnovers, while the Pilots aided the cause by missing 8-of-15 free throw attempts.
