DES MOINES, Iowa – Sophomore Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) finished third in the women's 10,000 meters and junior Nathan Davis (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) took seventh in the men's 10,000 meters to help highlight the opening day of competition for the Bradley Track and Field teams at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship Friday.

McMahon, who won her sixth all-conference honors of her career, scored six points for the Braves with a third-place finish in the 10,000 meters, crossing the line in third at 35:48.60.  Her time was less than five seconds behind second-place finisher Kimberly Christensen of Illinois State. 

Freshman Caitlin Pribble (Morton, Ill./Morton) also turned in a strong performance in the first 10,000 meters of her collegiate career.  Pribble was ninth overall at 37:16.06, with her time ranking fifth among Bradley career-best times.

In the men's 10,000 meters, Davis finished seventh overall to earn two points for the Braves.  His time of 31:00.18 was 40 seconds off his career-best pace and he was less than 30 seconds out of the top four. 

"Our 10K's were solid tonight,” said Bradley head coach Marc Burns.  “(Sarah) McMahon racked up another All-MVC award by finishing with a huge kick.  There was a pack of four together with about 1,000 meters to go and she had to really gut it out to finish third.  Nathan scored for the first time in his career.  He looked really good early in the race and then struggled through the middle laps but was able to find a big finish.  I am really proud of how they both battled to the finish line."

The Bradley Track and Field teams continue competition at the MVC Outdoor Championship Saturday at 5 p.m.
