PEORIA, Ill. – Farnsworth Group has become the newest member of the Bradley Athletics corporate sponsorship family at the Silver level as the presenting sponsor of the second-annual Student-Athlete Etiquette Dinner and a supporting sponsor of the men’s and women’s cross country 2012 Bradley Classic.

“We are excited about our partnership with Farnsworth Group and their sponsorship of the Bradley Classic and Student-Athlete Etiquette Dinner,” said Bradley Director of Athletics Dr. Michael Cross.  “Their support of these two events, and in particular their interest in the preparation of our student-athletes for their post-Bradley careers through the Etiquette Dinner, speaks volumes about their appreciation of Bradley Athletics’ mission to provide both a distinctive education and a championship experience to every student-athlete.”

The Bradley Student-Athlete Etiquette Dinner, presented by Farnsworth Group, is planned for Oct. 22 and is an initiative of the athletic department’s student-athlete services division.  The formal dinner event places Bradley junior student-athletes in a professional setting with members of the local business community and includes presentations from Smith Career Center staff designed to prepare the student-athletes for their post-graduation careers.

The second home meet of the season, the Bradley Classic is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Newman Golf Course, where men’s and women’s cross country teams from throughout the Midwest will compete in College/Open and Championship races.  The two men’s 8-kilometer races are slated to begin at 3 p.m. and 4:25, while the two women’s 6K races are scheduled for 3:40 and 5:05.

“Farnsworth Group is proud to help support and be associated with Bradley University, a respected institution, not only here in Central Illinois, but across the nation,” said Farnsworth Group President and Chief Executive Officer Karen M. Jensen, PE.  “As a Central Illinois-based engineering and architecture firm, we know the value Bradley University offers our community as demonstrated by the quality Bradley graduates employed at Farnsworth Group.  We look forward to a successful partnership with Bradley and the opportunity to support its student-athletes.”

Farnsworth Group, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a full-service engineering, architecture and survey firm based in Peoria and Bloomington, Ill., offering clients more than 300 professionals located throughout a nationwide network of offices including Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin, California and Georgia.

Founded in 1897, Bradley University is a distinctive, medium-size, comprehensive private institution of higher learning and the 85-acre campus is located in Peoria, the largest metropolitan area in central Illinois.  With approximately 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students, Bradley offers the opportunities and choices of a larger university (with over 130 programs in five colleges, including the traditional sciences plus a graduate school) with the quality, personal attention and challenge of a small private college.  Bradley is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, the second oldest conference in the nation, and boasts 15 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s athletic teams.
