Cody Roberts was named head strength and conditioning coach in May 2010 and is now in his second year at Bradley as the Director of Sport Performance.
A Kansas alum with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, Roberts is no stranger to Central Illinois. He spent a year as an intern and graduate assistant on the strength and conditioning staff at Illinois State, before returning to Kansas to finish up work on a master's degree in exercise science in May 2010.
During his time in Lawrence, Kan., Roberts worked with the Jayhawk volleyball, tennis, baseball, cross country, track & field and swimming & diving teams. He also assisted with the development of the men's and women's basketball, soccer and softball teams. Roberts oversaw the strength and conditioning regiment for an All-American diver for the Jayhawks in addition to a swim team which set 11 school records in a two-year period.
A native of Bloomington, Ill., Roberts graduated from Normal Community High School. He was a four-year member of the Track & Field team at Kansas, where he placed 20th at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Championship in the discus and advanced to the NCAA Championship in the event as both a junior and senior. Roberts competed in the NCAA Outdoor Regional in each of his final three seasons and was a four-time All-Big 12 performer, earning the honor three times in the discus and once in the hammer throw.
He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and certified Sport Performance Coach through United States Weightlifting
