Founded in 1997, the Friends of Bradley Soccer, has been instrumental in providing external funding and gift-in-kind-sponsorship to the Braves program.
In the past 15 years the Bradley Soccer program has burst onto the national scene and has solidified itself as one of the nation’s most respected programs. Program highlights include: the 2007 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight run; eight years in the national Top 25; five NCAA Tournament appearances; four Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championships, including three straight from 2005-07; 10 consecutive trips to the State Farm MVC Tournament Final Four; eight appearances in the MVC Tournament championship match; and six players playing professionally. Academically, Bradley Soccer players have been among the MVC leaders in Scholar-Athletes, produced 12 scholastic All-America awards and boast a 97 percent graduation rate.
The Friends have assisted in allowing Bradley Soccer to “go national” by supplying external dollars for the team to showcase their talents around the nation against nationally-regarded programs such as Stanford, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Santa Clara, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Richmond, VCU, Yale, New Hampshire, Vermont, Brown and Dartmouth. The “Friends” group also has been the driving force in supporting our team tour to Belgium, Holland and Germany over a 13-day period in 2000, as well as a 12-day trip to Barbados in 2011. These opportunities have allowed the Bradley Soccer program to geographically recruit around the country and spread the word that something special is in Peoria when it comes to soccer. We hope you will be joining us this year.
