PEORIA, Ill.ó First-year Bradley head men’s tennis coach Jesse Plote received a National Letter of Intent from local prep standout Brock Reiman (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) Wednesday. Reiman will join the Braves for the 2009-10 season.
Reiman is a three-time Mid-Illini Conference champion and will play at the top singles position this spring as a senior. His three-year record is 121-14 and Reiman has earned All-State accolades in each of his three prep seasons. The prep tennis website TennisRecruiting.net ranks Reiman 170th in the nation and sixth in the state of Illinois for the 2009 season.
"It’s a proud day for Bradley tennis to have Brock join our program," Plote said. "He’s a great person with a great family whose father is a Bradley graduate that played tennis here."
Brock’s father Randy played for the Braves from 1979-82. He earned 66 career singles victories, tied for fourth-most in program history. In 1979, Reiman won 25 matches, fourth-most in school history for a single season. His record that season of 25-8 gave him a win percentage of .758, 21st-best all-time among Bradley players that posted at least 15 victories.
