COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - A light malfunction at Tennessee Tech's Bush Stadium postponed game two of the Bradley-Tennessee Tech series Saturday night, but the Braves resumed play Sunday with six runs in three innings to earn a 6-1 victory.
Bradley broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth with an RBI safety squeeze by senior first baseman Mike McMillan (Bloomington, Ill./Normal University H.S.) to take a 1-0 lead. Walks and errors helped the Braves plate three more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to make it a 6-1 game.
Junior outfielder Brian Martin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./College of DuPage/Lombard Montini Catholic H.S.) and senior infielder Matt Fritz (Northbrook, Ill./DePauw University/Glenbrook North H.S.) each had two hits and McMillan added two RBI's.
Junior right-hander Patrick Cooper (Danville, Ky./Des Moines Area C.C./Boyle County H.S.) started the game Saturday, throwing 2.0 hitless innings and striking out three, while sophomore Jacob Booden (Vernon Hills, Ill./Libertyville H.S.) and freshman Andy Johnson (Medina, Minn./Wayzata H.S.) continued the contest Sunday. The trio allowed just one run on three hits in 7.0 innings with Booden (1-0) earning his first victory of the season.
