SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Senior infielder Matt Fritz (Northbrook, Ill./DePauw University/Glenbrook North H.S.) was 3-for-4 with three RBI's and sophomore right-hander Jacob Booden (Vernon Hills, Ill./Libertyville H.S.) pitched 7.0 scoreless innings as Bradley earned a 10-1 victory over Pacific at the Irish Baseball Classic Saturday afternoon.
A two-out two-run double by senior catcher Kevin Sullivan (Elmhurst, Ill./Oakton J.C./York H.S.) gave the Braves a 2-0 lead after one inning. Bradley plated a run in the fourth on an RBI groundout by freshman outfielder Bob Schuch (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice H.S.) and took a 4-0 lead after an RBI double from freshman designated hitter Josh Camalick (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale Central H.S.) in the fifth.
Fritz drove in all three of his RBI's in the seventh, including a leadoff homer and a two-out two-run single, as the Braves scored six runs in the frame to make it a 10-0 game. Pacific used four pitchers in the inning and made five errors that led to five unearned Bradley runs. The Tigers scratched across their lone run in the eighth.
Booden improved to 2-0 on the mound this season, scattering six hits while striking out three in 7.0 innings of work. Fritz and freshman shortstop David Compitello (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg H.S.) each finished with three of Bradley's 11 hits.
