SPORTS MARKETING INTERNSHIP
SPIRIT PATROL(Up to 15 positions)
Bradley Sports Marketing department is seeking energetic, creative and outgoing individuals to join the athletics SPIRIT PATROL for the 2012 - 2013 academic year. The spirit patrol is a new internship program designed to support all Bradley University athletic events and campus marketing initiatives. Patrol members are responsible for working with the sports marketing staff to execute all day of game elements to make Bradley events a quality experience for fans of all ages. This includes hosting pregame events, coordinating in-game contests, post game events, Red Sea student events, campus and community sales opportunities and more. Candidates should be team-oriented and must be willing to work weekends and nights, an average of approximately 15 events per semester. Excellent follow through and communications skills are essential and knowledge of sports and an interest in the sports marketing industry are a plus. These positions are limited to full-time Bradley University students and students must commit for the academic year (August- May). Opportunities are volunteer -based and course credit may be earned as academic programs allow. Up to fifteen students will be selected.
RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
•Assist with operation of all game day elements for soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball.
•Interact with fans on a daily basis to promote Bradley University athletics program and events.
•Encourage excitement and spirit at events to ensure fun atmosphere.
•Attend monthly weekly staff meetings.
•Follow NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference guidelines required of all athletic department employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Ability to relate to people of all ages, genders and economic status.
•Excellent public relations and communication skills.
•Be in good academic standing with the University.
•Enthusiasm for Bradley University and the athletics program.
•Ability to work evening and weekend events.
•Dependable team player who likes to have fun.
•Positive attitude.
