PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's golfer Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after breaking the Bradley career record for rounds in the 70's.
Amundrud, who has battled injuries this fall, carded a final round 75 at last week's fifth annual Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo., to break former teammate Bari Erais' school career mark with her 74th career sub-80 round. Amundrud tied for 40th in the field with a 54-hole total of 230. An accounting major, Amundrud owns a 3.93 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Amundrud and the Braves return to action Monday and Tuesday at the Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo.
