Stong plays both baseball and hockey at Andover High School, where he earned all-conference honors on the diamond in 2011. After batting .273 with 10 runs batted in as a sophomore in 2010, Stong hit .390 in 2011 with 25 RBI's and a .519 on-base percentage. On the mound, Stong has recorded a 4.04 earned run average with 65 strikeouts the last two seasons.
Stong is the twin brother of fellow Bradley Baseball recruit Brent Stong. The sons of John and Karen Stong, the twin brothers were born Nov. 22, 1993 in Fridley, Minn.

"Nate is one of the kids who we have seen get better and better each time we have seen him play. Nate will be called upon to play a few different positions. Nate brings great value to the program in that he has the ability pitch, catch, play the infield and hit left-handed.
"As a pitcher, Nate's velocity has gone up during the summer and fall and we think his best days are ahead of him."
