PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Catie O'Leary (Janesville, Wis./Parker/Wisconsin) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley women's basketball team to a 93-64 victory against Western Illinois last week.

Named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week on Monday, O'Leary scored a career-high 29 points in just 22 minutes off the bench in the victory against the Leathernecks.  She was 10-for-18 from the field, including 6-of-9 from three-point range, helping the Braves match a school record for non-conference victories in a season with their league-leading ninth win of the year.  A nursing major, O'Leary owns a 3.46 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

O'Leary and the Braves return to action Thursday, opening Missouri Valley Conference play with a 7 p.m. home game against preseason league favorite Missouri State at Renaissance Coliseum.
