PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior pitcher Mackenzie Camp (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after picking up a pair of wins last week at the Under Armour Showcase in Clearwater, Fla.

Camp went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA, pitching 14 innings in three outings last week.  Camp, who struck out nine and walked none, opened the week with the first complete game shutout of her career as she surrendered just two hits in a 2-0 victory against Wagner.  She also picked up the victory against Villanova, tossing 5.1 innings out of the bullpen in addition to throwing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief against Central Connecticut State.  A family and consumer science major, Camp owns a 3.08 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Camp and the Braves are back in action Thursday, playing a 4 p.m. game at SIU Edwardsville before opening Missouri Valley Conference play with a three-game series against Creighton Saturday (noon doubleheader) and Sunday (noon) at Laura Bradley Park.
