PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's golf team ranked 16th in the nation among all collegiate golf programs and eighth among NCAA Division I squads with a 3.664 team grade point average for the 2011-12 academic year according to an announcement by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Wednesday.

The only Missouri Valley Conference team ranked in the top 25 and one of 13 NCAA Division I schools ranked in the top 25, Bradley had all seven team members earn a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters last year.  Six of the seven squad members posted a 3.5 grade point average or better in the 2012 spring semester.

The Braves have ranked among the top 20 in the nation in GPA for the fifth time in the last seven years, including top-5 national rankings in 2005-06 (2nd) and 2010-11 (3rd).

NAIA member Lee University posted the top team GPA in the country for the second consecutive year, owning a 3.965 team grade point average.

Former Brave Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) was the sixth two-time Capital One Academic All-America selection in school history, earning second-team honors in 2011-12.  Amundrud was one of five Bradley women's golfers to earn NGCA All-American Scholars earlier this month.  She was joined by Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan), junior Cassandra Marschall (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield/Wisconsin-Green Bay) and sophomores Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) and Christie Lin (Calgary, Alberta/Sir John G Diefenbaker)
