PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley’s nine individual players combined for a 13-5 record during the first two rounds of singles competition in the Bradley Invitational Saturday at the David Markin Tennis Courts and Bradley Park Tennis Courts.
Bradley is hosting five lower division programs in the season-opening, three-day tournament. Bradley’s dominant singles start follows the team’s 13-2 showing during Friday night’s doubles performance at the Clubs at River City North.
Five of Bradley’s nine players posted 2-0 records Saturday, while one of the team’s five losses came in an intrasquad matchup when sophomore Ahmed Albitar downed junior Justin Abrams in Flight 7 action. In addition to Albitar, Bradley’s other four undefeated performers Saturday were Hamish Weerasinghe (Flight 2), Arthur Romanet (Flight 4), Eric Nguyen (Flight 5) and Michael Davis (Flight 8).
The Bradley Invitational will conclude with two more rounds of action in seven of the eight flights, while Flight 7 still has three rounds remaining.
