PEORIA, Ill. – For the second weekend in a row, the Bradley men’s tennis team will host a multi-team round-robin event when the Braves host the 2012 Bradley Classic at the Markin Tennis Courts and Bradley Park.
Tournament play will start at 3 p.m. Friday with five rounds of doubles action in four flights, then will continue at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday with five rounds of singles play in eight flights. The Braves will be joined in the Bradley Classic by DePauw, IUPUI, Saint Louis and South Dakota State.
The Braves dominated the Bradley Invitational this past weekend, hosting five lower-division teams in a similar round-robin format. Including four rounds of doubles play and five rounds of singles action, the Braves combined for a 40-9 overall record last weekend, winning three of the four doubles flights and six of the eight singles flights.
The Bradley Classic will be Bradley’s last home completion during the fall tournament season. The Braves will compete in the ITA All-American Championship pre-qualifying Sept. 29-30 in Tulsa, Okla., then will close out the fall season at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championships Oct. 18-21 in Minneapolis.
