PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley duo of Justin Abrams and Juan Diego Cuadrado paced the Braves in doubles play during the first day of the Bradley Classic Friday afternoon and evening at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
Bradley is hosting DePauw, IUPUI, Saint Louis and South Dakota State in a five-team, individual play round robin consisting of four doubles flights and eight doubles flights. The Abrams/Cuadrado pairing swept through the Flight 3 Doubles schedule Friday with a 4-0 record, pacing Bradley’s overall 12-6 record for the day.
In Flight 2 Doubles, the Bradley combo of Ashton Kalhorn and Hamish Weerasinghe went 3-1 in its four matches, but the Braves pairing earned a injury default win in its fourth match against the flight’s other 3-1 duo from DePauw.
The Bradley Classic will continue with the first three rounds of singles action Saturday and will conclude with the final two rounds of singles play Sunday. Both of the weekend singles rounds will begin at 9 a.m. at the David Markin Tennis Courts and Bradley Park courts.
