LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sophomore Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) had the low score of the day for the Bradley women's golf team with a two-over par 74 and freshman Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) tied for 21st in the final individual standings to help the Braves climb one spot into 13th in the final team standings Tuesday at the Cardinal Cup.
Hedemann turned in the best round of the tournament for BU with a final-round 74 at the par-72 Cardinal Club and tied for 43rd overall at 233. Lemek continued her strong play, matching her second-round score of 75 with another three-over 75 Tuesday and was the team's top finisher in the event. Lemek, who missed a top-20 finish by one shot, tied for 21st overall at 227 to lead the Braves by six shots.
Fellow freshman Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) closed out tournament play with an 82 to tie for 64th (240), while junior Cassandra Marschall (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) was one shot behind Roadley in a tie for 67th at 241, following a final-round 81.
Sophomore Christie Lin (Calgary, Alberta/Sir John G Diefenbaker) rounded out the team scoring for Bradley with an 88, finishing 79th in the field at 251. Freshman Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) played as an individual and matched Lin's final-round 88 to finish 76th (248).
Tournament-host Louisville won the team title with a 54-hole score of 896 to edge second-place finisher Missouri (897) by one stroke. Chattanooga was five shots back in third (901), with Cincinnati (4th - 905) and Maryland (5th - 907) rounding out the top five, respectively. Rollins College took sixth at 912 and was followed by East Tennessee State (7th - 913), UNC-Greensboro (8th - 916) and Georgia State (9th - 920).
UNC-Wilmington climbed into 10th in the standings at 921, with Illinois State sliding to 11th (926). James Madison was three shots back in 12th (929) with Bradley moving up to 13th at 934 after shooting a final-round 312. Akron was nine shots behind the Braves in 14th (943) and Charleston Southern (15th - 944) rounded out the field.
Bradley returns to action Oct. 1 & 2 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
