PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Jake Eastman (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after averaging 12.5 points per game in two contests last week.
Eastman shot 50 percent from the field and was 3-for-7 from three-point range in addition to averaging 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 assist per game to go along with his 12.5 points per contest last week. He had 11 points, five boards, two steals and a blocked shot at South Florida, before following it up with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in Saturday's win against UT-Martin. A sports communication major, Eastman owns a 3.31 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Eastman and the Braves return to action Wednesday, playing a 6 p.m. game at Central Michigan, before opening a season-long four-game home stand Saturday against third-ranked Michigan.
