PEORIA, Ill. -- For the second consecutive week, junior guard Walt Lemon, Jr., (Chicago, Ill./Julian) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping lead the Bradley men's basketball team to a 67-57 win against Drake Saturday.
Lemon scored a season and game-high 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for the Braves Saturday at Carver Arena. He also added six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 36 minutes of action. A psychology major, Lemon owns a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Lemon and the Braves return to action tonight, taking on Southern Illinois at 7:05 p.m. in Carbondale, Ill.
