Adele Henke Named Country Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's tennis player Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after posting a 3-1 record last week. 

Henke teamed with sophomore Corey Mattson (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) for an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles against Saint Louis Saturday and earned a pair of wins to help highlight Sunday's 4-3 victory at SIU Edwardsville.  She and Mattson were 8-3 winners at #1 doubles and Henke clinched the first victory at Bradley for first-year head coach Chris Williams with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) win at #1 singles.  An english major, Henke owns a 3.36 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Henke and the Bradley women's tennis team return to action Saturday, Feb. 16 at Western Michigan (5 p.m.).
