MILWAUKEE – The Bradley men’s tennis team bounced back from a Sunday morning loss to host Milwaukee with a 7-0 sweep against South Dakota State Sunday afternoon at the Helfaer Tennis and Rec Center.
The Braves (4-2) completed a 3-match, 2-day swing through Chicago and Milwaukee with a 2-1 record, finishing off the trip with their first sweep of the young season against the Jackrabbits (0-5).
Bradley won 12 of 13 sets in singles action Sunday afternoon, highlighted by a 6-1, 6-1 win by sophomore Ahmed Albitar at No. 2 singles and a 6-2, 6-2 win by junior Kevin Keiner at No. 6 singles. Junior Ashton Kalhorn completed the sweep by rallying from a 4-6 loss in his first set at No. 4 singles, with a second-set tie-break win and a 10-4 decision in his deciding third set.
The Braves will host their first home matches of the spring next weekend at the Clubs at River City by welcoming Toledo Friday (6:30 p.m.) night and Butler Sunday (2 p.m.) afternoon. Admission to Bradley Tennis home matches is free.
