GALESBURG, Ill. (Updated with corrected results) – The Bradley women’s tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win Wednesday against Western Illinois at Lakeside Tennis Center, securing its best victory total in 20 years.
The Braves (9-14), will finish the 2012-13 campaign with a 9-9 regular-season non-conference record. Still with a pair of Missouri Valley Conference home matches this weekend to end the regular season, Bradley’s nine wins this year are the most since the 1992-93 squad finished 14-7 overall.
Bradley set the tone for Wednesday’s non-conference finale by dominating the doubles action, losing only two points in the three matches. The momentum carried over to singles play, where Bradley won all six matches in straight sets. Senior Brigitte Graf highlighted the singles action by earning a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 6 position in her first dual match of the spring.
The Braves will host Drake Saturday and Northern Iowa Sunday. Both matches are slated for 10 a.m. starts on campus at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
