TULSA, Okla. – The doubles team of Ashton Kalhorn and Hamish Weerasinghe saw its run through the Main Draw come to an end in the third round Saturday, but Weerasinghe bounced back with a singles win to highlight Bradley’s results during the third day of the 2013 USTA/ITA Central Region Championships.

After knocking off duos from Saint Louis and Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois during Friday’s action, Kalhorn and Weerasinghe played the tournament’s No. 3 seed, Minnesota tandem Mathieu Froment and Jack Hamburg, tough before falling 8-6 in Saturday morning’s third round.

Both players faced singles matches in the Main Draw Consolation bracket against players from BCS power six conferences.  Weerasinghe rallied for a 3-set win against Nebraska’s Andrew Dzuinsky, 3-6, 6-3, 9-7.  Kalhorn fell to Arkansas’s Johan den Toom 6-4, 6-2.

Following this weekend’s USTA/ITA Central Region Championships, the Braves will wrap up their fall schedule Nov. 8-10 at the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Tennis Individual Championships.
