Weerasinghe and Kalhorn Advance to Third Round

TULSA, Okla. – Bradley seniors Hamish Weerasinghe and Ashton Kalhorn had a successful Friday afternoon, earning their way into the third round of the Men’s Doubles Main Draw at the 2013 USTA/ITA Central Regional Championship Friday at Tulsa.

The senior duo began Friday afternoon with an 8-6 victory over the St. Louis doubles team of Yehia El-Sallaly and Vuk Poledica. Kalhorn and Weerasinghe then continued the success earning another 8-6 win over Jorge Cavero and Szymon Opieczonek from SIU.

The Braves had two other doubles teams who were in actions both loss in the first round. Dan Rodefeld and Justin Abrams dropped a 8-7 (4) to Elliot Baker and Brandon Lee from Creighton, and the team of Arthur Romanet and Sergio Rakitin lost 8-3 to the Tulsa duo of Daniel Santos and Carlos Bautista.

Kalhorn and Weerasinghe return to action tomorrow to take on Minnesota’s Mathieu Froment and Jack Hamburg in third round action.
