Weerasinghe Eliminated from Central Regional

TULSA, Okla. – Senior Hamish Weerasinghe reached the quarterfinals of the Main Draw Singles Consolation Bracket before Bradley’s participation in the 2013 USTA/ITA Central Region Championships came to an end Sunday.

Weerasinghe started his run in the consolation bracket Saturday with a 3-6, 6-3, 9-7 win against Nebraska’s Andrew Dzulnsky, but after advancing to the quarterfinals due to an injury to his second-round opponent Sunday morning, he was eliminated by another Husker, Tom Blackwell, 6-0, 6-1.  Blackwell followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win against Drake’s Euan McIntosh and will play for the consolation bracket championship Monday.
