MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's tennis team was not distracted by the school's NCAA Men's Basketball Championship upset win against Duke Friday as the Bears (7-12) cruised to a 4-0 win against visiting Bradley (3-11) at Stratford Academy.
Mercer started the dual match with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles and 8-4 decision at No. 2 doubles to claim the day's first points. The Bears quickly finished off the match by earning straight-sets victories at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles. Freshman Dan Rodefeld had won his first set at No. 6 singles for the Braves, but his match was halted after the Bears clinched the fourth and deciding point.
Bradley will wrap up its spring break trip through the South Saturday by visiting Georgia State (9:00 a.m. CDT) in the morning and Kennesaw State (2:00 p.m. CDT) in the afternoon.
