PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore women’s golfer Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after tying for fifth at last week’s Plantation Inn Intercollegiate.

Lemek wrapped up play at the Plantation Inn Intercollegiate with a school record six-under par 66 to vault into a tie for fifth in the final individual standings.  She opened play with a one-over par 73 and tied the fourth longest streak of sub-80 rounds in school history with her 12th consecutive round in the 70’s.  After a second round 81, Lemek was even through her first six holes of Sunday’s final round before firing six birdies on her final 12 holes to shoot a school-record 66.  She broke the previous school record of 68 and posted her eighth consecutive top-10 finish as she tied for fifth in the field.  A marketing major, Lemek owns a 3.26 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lemek and the Bradley women’s golf team are back in action April 5-6, hosting the Bradley Invitational at WeaverRidge Golf Course.
