NORMAL, Ill. - Freshman Nico Rakitin won both his singles and doubles matches, but host Illinois State (7-10, 1-1 MVC) cruised to a 6-1 Missouri Valley Conference men's tennis win against Bradley (3-17, 0-3 MVC) Friday afternoon at the Gregory Street Courts.

Rakitin teamed with fellow freshman Dan Rodefeld for a 7-6 win at No. 3 doubles, but the Redbirds claimed the match's first point by earning 8-2 and 8-3 wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, respectively.

Rakitin followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Jakub Eisner at No. 3 singles for Bradley's lone point of the day.

The Braves will close out the regular-season schedule by hosting Drake in a 1 p.m. match Sunday at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
