NORMAL, Ill. - With a score that was not reflective of the play on the court, host Illinois State (7-12) advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Tennis Team Championship with a 4-0 win against Bradley (3-18) Friday morning at Gregory Street Tennis Courts.
The fourth-seeded Redbirds rallied from early deficits at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the day's first point. While Illinois State clinched the doubles point with an 8-7 win at No. 2, the Braves held a 7-6 lead at No. 1 doubles.
Bradley also led at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, Ashton Kalhorn and Nico Rakitin respectively, when the match was halted after Illinois State earned the day's clinching fourth point.
