NEW ORLEANS, La. -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Bradley men's cross country team has received all-academic team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), announced Wednesday.

The Braves finished the fall semester with a 3.17 cumulative grade point average and were one of 147 NCAA Division I teams with a 3.0 grade point average or better.

"We are very proud of our men's program," head coach Marc Burns said.  "They continue to excel in the classroom with four individuals earning a 4.0 GPA this semester.  The expectations are high in the locker room and the guys are figuring that out and stepping up their efforts in the classroom.  Our academics and student welfare staff does an outstanding job working with our student-athletes and also deserve credit for their hard work."

Wisconsin was named the 2011 NCAA Division I USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country Scholar Team of the Year, while Cattanooga turned in the highest grade point average in the nation at 3.81.  A team must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA in order to be considered for the award.

In addition to its USTFCCCA award, the men's cross country team boasted seven members on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2011 Fall semester.
