WICHITA, Kan. -- Freshman Sarah McMahon (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) highlighted the opening day of competition for the Bradley track and field teams at the 2012 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship Friday, finishing fifth in the 10,000 meters.
McMahon clocked the fourth fastest career-best 10,000 meter time in school history, finishing fifth in the event with a time of 36:32.35. Her time was the fastest by a Bradley individual since 2010 and she finished 12 seconds out of the top three in the event.
In the men's 10,000 meters, sophomore Nathan Davis (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) finished 13th with a time of 32:29.93 to pace two Bradley individuals in the field. The men's 10,000 meters was the first event at a conference championship for the Bradley men's track and field team since 1992.
The Bradley track and field teams continue competition at the 2012 State Farm MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship beginning Saturday at 6 p.m.
