Two coaches with 41 combined years of collegiate head coaching experience and 14 NCAA Tournament appearances will be the featured speakers when the Braves Club hosts the fourth-annual Bradley Soccer Gameday Luncheon Wednesday at the Lariat Steakhouse.  Bradley Soccer head coach Jim DeRose will be joined by Northwestern head coach Tim Lenahan as the featured speakers at the Gameday Luncheon in advance of Wednesday night’s clash between the Braves and nationally-ranked Wildcats at Shea Stadium.

Now in his 17th season at Bradley, DeRose boasts a 185-126-35 career record and has accounted for 78.4 percent of the all-time wins in the program’s history while leading the Braves to all of their six NCAA Tournament appearances.  Lenahan is in his 24th year as a collegiate head coach and his 12th year at Northwestern, where he has led the Wildcats to six NCAA Tournaments in the last eight years.  The defending Big Ten Conference regular-season and tournament champion, Northwestern begins this week with a 6-0-2 overall record and the Wildcats are ranked as high as 12th in the national polls.

Former Bradley Basketball star Anthony Parker will be the featured speaker for the first basketball Braves Club Game Day Luncheon, presented by Herget Bank, Nov. 12 on Mitchell “J.J.” Anderson Court in the Renaissance Coliseum Basketball Performance Center.  The 1996 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and a 16-year professional basketball veteran, Parker will be inducted into the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame at halftime of the Nov. 12 men’s basketball game versus Texas-Pan American at Renaissance Coliseum.

A pair of second-year head coaches will be the featured speakers Dec. 4 for the second basketball Game Day Luncheon when George Washington’s Mike Lonergan and Bradley’s Geno Ford take to the podium prior to that night’s game between the Colonials and Braves at Carver Arena.  Beginning his second year at George Washington, Lonergan boasts 18 years overall as a collegiate head coach, racking up a 377-156 career record with 13 postseason appearances and 12 regular-season conference titles.

A Braves Club Game Day Luncheon favorite will return Jan. 15 when first-year Southern Illinois coach Barry Hinson joins Ford as the featured speakers prior to the men’s basketball game versus the Salukis at Carver Arena.  Combining his wit and wisdom, Hinson was a popular guest speaker at the Braves Club Game Day Luncheons during his 9-year career at Missouri State, where he compiled a 169-117 record from 1999-2008 and took four teams to the National Invitation Tournament.

The final Braves Club Game Day Luncheon is scheduled for Feb. 15 and will feature the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2013, which will be announced next month.  After speaking at the luncheon, the class officially will be inducted into the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame during halftime of the Feb. 16 men’s basketball game versus Indiana State at Carver Arena.

Tickets for each of the five Game Day Luncheons are $20 for Braves Club members and $25 for non-members and may be purchased in advance by contacting the Braves Club Office at 309-677-2667.  Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for each luncheon and the speaking program, which will be emceed by Voice of the Braves Dave Snell, will begin at noon.  Wednesday’s Soccer Game Day Luncheon will be held at The Lariat Steakhouse (2232 W. Glen Avenue) and the Nov. 12 luncheon with Anthony Parker will be held on Mitchell “J.J.” Anderson Court in the Renaissance Coliseum Basketball Performance Center.  The remaining three luncheons will be held in the Bradley University Michel Student Center ballroom.
