PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior forward Wojciech Wojcik (Elmwood Park, Ill./Elmwood Park) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after having a part in all four of Bradley’s goals in two NCAA Tournament games.
In last Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win in the NCAA Tournament first round at Northwestern, Wojcik assisted the game’s opening goal, then scored a pair of headers, including the golden game-winner in the 97th minute. His assist during the seventh minute set the Bradley single-season record and he joined Evansville’s Faik Hajderovic as the national assist leader this season. In Sunday’s loss at #6 California, Wojcik scored in the 47th minute to pull the Braves within a goal at 2-1. A secondary education (history) major, Wojcik owns a 3.27 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
