Braves Cruise Past Robert Morris in Exhibition Action

Peoria, Ill. – The Bradley men's basketball team dominated the paint en route to a 30-point victory in its final exhibition game of the 2017-18 preseason. The Braves outscored Robert Morris by 34 points inside as BU cruised to the 87-57 victory.
 
All 12 Braves scored in the winning effort, led by 17 points from junior guard Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye – who also added six rebounds, two assists and two steals to go with his 7-of-10 day from the field. Three other Braves scored in double figures with sophomore Nate Kennell tallying 14, junior Callum Barker adding 11 and senior JoJo McGlaston chipping in 10 points.
 
Freshman Elijah Childs led BU with eight rebounds, while McGlaston and sophomore Darrell Brown each registered a game-high four assists.

The Braves took control of the contest five minutes into the action when an 8-0 run gave Bradley the lead for good, 21-14. Lautier-Ogunleye led BU with seven points in the early stretch as the Braves never looked back. Bradley then pushed its lead to 21 points at the break with a 13-0 run to finish the stanza, heading to the locker room with a 51-30 advantage.
 
 
Overall, Bradley held a 32-6 advantage in points in the paint in the first 20 minutes of action, dominating the inside to stake out to its 21-point lead.
 
The Braves continued their dominance in the second half, only allowing the Eagles to within 18 points and the lead reaching as high as 32, as Bradley finished off the 87-57 exhibition victory.
 
BU shot 50.8 percent from the field, controlling the interior to the tune of 48-14 in the paint. Bradley also held a 19-2 advantage in fast-break points and an 18-7 edge in points off turnovers. Overall, the Braves held the Eagles to just 28.6 percent shooting with a 24.4 percent clip from 3-point range.
 
Bradley returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 for the season-opener against IUPUI. The season officially tips off at Carver Arena with a 1 p.m. start time.
