PEORIA, IL. – The Bradley Braves Softball team earned a 4-0 win over the University of Evansville. The Braves were leading in the second game of the doubleheader 2-0, yet it was postponed during the fifth inning due to inclement weather. That game will resume at 12:30 p.m. CT. on April 18th.
Game 1
Sophomore
Emily Organ started the second inning off with a triple to right field, the first in her collegiate career. Junior
Hilary Wilson hit a triple to right-center field, scoring the first run of the game. This was Wilson's second triple of the season, the 21st RBI in her Bradley career. Later on in the second frame, senior
Kierston McCoy hit a single down the right field line to score Wilson. Entering the third inning up 2-0, Organ hit a two-RBI double to right-center field. The Braves held this 4-0 lead through the final four innings.
Wilson and Organ each knocked a pair of hits for the Braves; both of Organ's hits were for extra bases. Junior
Ella Shafer and senior
Austin Comstock both worked two walks. The Braves outhit the Purple Aces, 7-4. Sophomore
Abby Rusher threw the complete game shutout, allowing only one walk with four strikeouts. This was the second shutout in Rusher's time with the Braves.

Following the last two innings of resumed play tomorrow, the Braves and Purple Aces will play the third and final game of the weekend series. First pitch is currently scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT. at OSF Healthcare Field at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, IL.
