Junior Shunseere Kent of the women's basketball team is the Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote for the month of December.

Kent led the Braves to a 4-2 record during the final month of 2017, averaging 9.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals.

The junior and her teammates played their best basketball at the end of the month as the Braves earned two key victories to close out December. After a win over a strong Western Illinois team – the defending Summit League champions and a team that already owns a victory over Stanford this season – Kent led the Braves to a win against I-74 rival Illinois State, 62-42, on Dec. 31. Kent scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go with two assists and a season-high six steals in the MVC opener as BU posted its largest win over its rival since 2001-02 and largest victory at Illinois State since 1994-95.

Overall, Kent is averaging a team-best 9.1 points per game for the Braves this season to go with 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals.

Kent earned the Bradley Athlete of the Month accolades after a fan vote on the school's twitter account. Floyd Mews collected 55 percent of the vote to beat out Darrell Brown of the men's basketball team (45 percent).
